As the world watched Netanyahu and Trump strike the Gaza peace deal and allow hostages to finally return to Israeli soil, both leaders delivered long speeches in Israel that sparked numerous reactions on social media. The Middle East had been waiting for this day, but the world was also closely watching as thousands of Palestinians were killed under Israeli occupation, debating whether this would be the final nail in the coffin of the ceasefire or if the bloodshed would continue.

The 'Trump Peace Prize'

US President Donald Trump addressed Israel's Knesset in Jerusalem following the release of hostages, saying, “Today the skies are calm, the guns are silent.”

One user praised Trump as “the only American president who has really meant ‘peace’ when he says ‘peace,’” adding, “Praise the Lord for President Trump!”

Another user compared him to former President Obama, noting that after the Nobel Committee awarded Obama the Peace Prize “for doing nothing,” it was not enough for Trump. They suggested that the United States should create a “Trump Peace Prize” to recognise his efforts in bringing peace to the world.

'Fastest cleanup' with applause

During Trump’s speech at the Israeli Knesset, several left-wing members were removed after interrupting and heckling him. Trump responded, “That was very efficient,” prompting laughter from the audience. The room then erupted into applause.

"Fastest cleanup in crew history," said one user.

Another said, "This is what we should do during hearings when the unhinged go berserk. lol"

A pardon for a war criminal?

During his speech, Trump went off script when he suggested, “I have an idea, Mr. President, why don’t you give him [Netanyahu] a pardon?” His remark was met with a standing ovation from the audience.

"One fraudster and corruption merchant pleading for another fraud and corruption merchant," commented one user

Another said, "A pardon for what? Is this an admittance by all that are present that he’s a (war) criminal?"

"Satanyahus reward for going along with the deal," said another.

'Turning diplomacy into a family flex'

During his speech in Israel, President Trump applauded his negotiating team and gave a special mention to his daughter Ivanka, saying, “Let me also give a very special thanks to someone who truly loves Israel, in fact, loves it so much that my daughter converted.”

"Trump turning diplomacy into a family flex. That shout-out hit personal," commented one user.

Another said, "How humble of President Trump to give credit where credit is due."

"It’s interesting how Trump always finds a way to make his speeches both personal and strategic. Mentioning Ivanka’s conversion wasn’t random — it was a way to reinforce his emotional connection to Israel, " commented another.

'Nailed it at the Knesset!'

As Trump concluded his speech to the Israeli Knesset, he received a standing ovation from the audience, who also chanted his name. He ended with a message, saying, “God bless you, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the Middle East. Good luck!”

"Goosebumps. We are respected once again," said one user.

Jibing at the Democrats, another user commented: "There's absolutely no way this would have happened with a Harris/Walz administration."

"Trump just nailed it at the Knesset! The standing ovation and chants of "TRUMP! TRUMP!" show how much his leadership is respected," said another user.
