New Delhi: Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba joined PM Modi in unequivocally condemning terrorism, including the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and took note of the UNSC Monitoring Team Report of July 29 mentioning for the first time The Resistance Front (TRF), the group which carried out the attack.
According to a joint statement, Modi explained to his counterpart that the TRF had claimed responsibility for the attack. "PM Ishiba noted this with concern," it said. They called for the perpetrators, organisers, and financiers of this reprehensible act to be brought to justice without any delay.
The leaders also called for concerted actions against all UN-listed terrorist groups and entities including al-Qaida, Islamic State, LeT, JeM and their proxies, and to take resolute action to root out terrorists' safe havens, eliminate terrorist financing channels and its nexus with transnational crime, and halt cross-border movement of terrorists.
