NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Intelligence on Saturday arrested Mangat Singh , a resident of Govindgarh in Alwar district , on charges of espionage for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence ( ISI ) under the Official Secrets Act , 1923.
According to police, Mangat came under the scanner during surveillance operations near the Alwar cantonment area, where his activities were found to be suspicious. Investigations revealed that he had been allegedly honey-trapped by a Pakistani female handler operating under the pseudonym “Isha Sharma.”
Officials said the handler had lured Singh with promises of money in exchange for confidential information related to sensitive defense zones. A case was registered at the Special Police Station, CID Intelligence, Jaipur, and Mangat was arrested on Friday.
Police sources said further investigation is under way to determine the extent of information shared and identify other possible links in the espionage network.
