LUCKNOW: Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB ) will be aiming to win their final league match and secure a top-two position, but standing in their way is an inconsistent Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team which will look to sign off on a high.
A red-soil pitch awaits RCB, and their head coach Andy Flower was seen examining the surface thoroughly a day before the game. LSG, incidentally, have suffered defeats in all three previous matches played on this pitch.

RCB’s week-long preparations at the Ekana have familiarised players with ground conditions. Head coach Andy Flower’s extensive knowledge of the venue — he was previously coach at LSG — has added value. The margin for error for RCB, who have 17 points, is rather slim. RCB were in red-hot form before the league was paused due to the India-Pakistan military conflict, but the break appears to have disrupted their momentum.
“We were rusty. The intensity wasn’t there initially. In the death (overs), we were bowling more accurately,” stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma. Once again, all eyes will be on RCB’s Virat Kohli, who is competing for the Orange Cap and has accumulated 548 runs with seven half-centuries (strike rate 145.33). Phil Salt too is in good form while the return of Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has lifted spirits in the RCB camp.
