Hidden away off the coast of Scotland, and the largest of the Inner Hebrides, is Britain's own version of Iceland. The Isle of Skye is renowned for its rugged, volcanic-esque landscapes and picturesque waterfalls that look like they've been taken straight out of a fantasy movie.
The island, which is a generous 50 miles long, was touted as one of the UK's must-visit locations by Tiktok user Ryan Young, who goes by @theryanyoung_. In a clip on the social media channel, the travel guru listed it alongside Durdle Door in Dorset, Portmeirion in Wales, The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland, and Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris.
"Here are five must-visit places in the UK," Ryan said at the start of the video. "Forget the usual tourist traps, here are some places that will blow your mind.
"First up are the Fairy Pools in Scotland. These insanely blue pools look straight out of a fantasy movie, and yes you can swim in them if you can handle the cold."
One of its most famous landmarks is the Old Man of Storr on the Trotternish Ridge with its dramatic rock formations, spiky rock pinnacle and simply stunning panoramic views over the island's remarkable landscape.
Next, there's the Quiraing, which is another must-see for anyone visiting the Isle of Skye. It boasts outworldly scenic cliffs, green hills and pinnacles.
The island is also home to various wildlife, including seals, red deer, golden eagles, and even otters. But away from all the views, animals, and jaw-dropping landscapes, is a place where you can take a break.
Portree is Skye's charming capital where you can enjoy the colourful harbourside buildings and cosy pubs, before exploring Dunvegan Castle - the historic home of the famous MacLeod clan.
One TripAdvisor review reads: "Full of natural beauty. Best place to visit in Scotland, we will visit isle of Skye again."
Another said: "I've done a decent amount of travelling and the Isle of Skye was possibly the most beautiful place I've ever been. The landscape and views are just amazing."
While on Reddit, one user proclaimed: "Isle of Skye is definitely the best place to visit in Scotland. I just came back from a nine day trip from Scotland and I can easily nominate Skye as my best three days there.
"If your Scotland trip is only for three days and you love nature, then don't even think about it and book Isle of Skye."
