A protester has climbed up the King's Cross station clock tower in London in a 'Freedom for Iran' demonstration. The man can be seen wearing a black T-shirt with the slogan 'No to war' while holding a banner that reads 'Freedom for Iran' and 'Iran belongs to its people'. He scaled the iconic London building on Tuesday morning and was pictured holding a dog while atop the structure. A section of the plaza outside the station is closed as police and firefighters work to get the man down.
Photos show emergency services using a ladder to attempt to get the man down from the top of the building. The man is reported to have reached the top of the station just after 8am today. A standoff with emergency services has lasted more than two hours as police and firefighters continue to deal with the situation.
The man shouted down at the crowds below as commuters made their way through the station during rush hour. He was standing at times, with the small dog under his left arm.
Recently, he has been sitting as he continues speaking to emergency services with the dog beside him. The front entrance to the station is currently closed off.
British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to King's Cross railway station at around 8am today (2 September) following reports of a person in a precarious position.

"The incident is ongoing and officers are in attendance alongside other emergency services, working to bring the incident to a safe conclusion."
Meanwhile, a London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "The Brigade was called at 8.14am to reports of a man on the roof of King's Cross railway station on Euston Road. Two fire engines and around ten firefighters are currently on scene assisting British Transport Police."
