Nottingham Forest are bracing for disappointment as Sevilla right-back Jose Angel Carmona is set to reject their offer. The Tricky Trees had negotiated a permanent deal worth £9.55million, including add-ons, with their La Liga counterparts.
However, Carmona has decided against a move to the City Ground and opted to stay in Spain, according to the Mirror. The versatile 23-year-old, who can also operate as a wing-back or centre-back, has been loyal to his hometown club since he was seven.
Monaco have also shown interest in the player recently but were met with the same response.
Nottingham Forest are considering other options, including a surprise bid for former player Matty Cash.
Polish international Cash, 28, moved from Forest to Villa in a £16m deal five years ago, and his contract at Villa Park runs until 2027.
