A Britain's Got Talent star from the Hear Our Voice choir, hit by the Post Office turmoil, has shared that they are feeling 'overwhelmed' ahead of the big finale. The panel of judges, Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon, were captivated from the moment the choir stepped into the spotlight.
Their audition took a poignant turn when conductor Tim disclosed their collective plight stemming from the massive fallout within the postal service. With the BGT finale slated for Saturday (May 31), choir representatives Tim Brentnall, Jess Kaur and Mark Wildblood joined Richard Arnold on Friday's segment of Good Morning Britain, reports Belfast Live.
During the conversation, Mark revealed: "There was so much negativity coming out of the Post Office scandal and it was a long, bureaucratic, drawn-out process that we were just fed up with all of the negativity."
He expressed: "I thought, what can we do just to make something a bit more positive, so here we are. The people have all had pretty negative lives because of this but we've created something joyous."
As Richard noted: "It's unified the nation clearly as I say you are bookies' favourite but it's also unified you all as well."
Mark acknowledged the deep connection formed amongst the choir members: "Absolutely, the bonding we have got within the group and we are so thankful for the support from the public to get us here it's just been phenomenal."
He expressed his gratitude: "We're overwhelmed by that and the family that we have created now is just a beautiful thing so thank you BGT as well."
Within the programme, Tim disclosed a significant tattoo he and his choir members got to commemorate their original audition song on Britain's Got Talent.
When Richard inquired about the tattoo, Tim proudly displayed the etched words on his arm stating: "I get the feeling that this isn't just a me thing."
This phrase throws light on the infamous debacle where sub-postmasters faced false accusations due to faulty IT systems.
Explaining the ink's resonance, he remarked: "A few of us have got it now. It's a lyric from the first song we did in Blackpool. When we heard it for the first time, it really struck a chord with us because we were all told, you're the only person this is happening to, and to hear the song saying, 'I get the feeling it isn't just a me thing.'"
Britain's Got Talent: The Final airs Saturday at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
