Liverpool reportedly remain interested in a blockbuster £150million transfer for Alexander Isak despite signing Hugo Ekitike. Another forward addition could end the Anfield careers of a number of fringe stars. Express Sport explores three players who could be at risk of a departure.
Luis Diaz
Diaz has long been linked with an exit from Liverpool and Isak's potential arrival would surely spell the end, particularly with Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Cody Gakpo able to play as left-wingers.
The Colombia international has entered the final year of his contract. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are said to have expressed an interest, while the 28-year-old is reported to be pushing for a possible exit. It would mark an emotional exit for a player who had made huge strides under Slot.
"Unbelievable," former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor said of Diaz last September following his excellent start to the 2024-25 season. "If you're wondering when did Luis Diaz get to five goals last season in the Premier League - [it was] February. So it just shows the improvement he's made this season. Absolutely outstanding, it really is."
Federico Chiesa
An exit for Chiesa always seemed a possibility even before the influx of attacking signings. His £14m switch from Juventus last summer has not worked out, and the winger could be on the move again this year.
The Italy international provided a couple of highlights, including the consolatory goal in Liverpool's Carabao Cup final defeat against Newcastle. But the 27-year-old made only six Premier League appearances - playing in just 104 minutes.
Cashing in on Chiesa could present a solid opportunity to recoup some of the £415m Liverpool will have spent this summer if Isak joins in an eye-watering £150m move.

Darwin Nunez
If Ekitike's arrival should have been a concern for Nunez, then Isak's potential arrival would surely mark the end of the Uruguayan's Liverpool career. His last Premier League start came in early March and he was mostly used from the bench last season.
Saudi Arabian clubs have been linked with a big-money move for the 26-year-old, which would help Liverpool to ease some of their spending. Nunez is highly unlikely to see much action next season if he is competing with Isak and Ekitike.
