Taskmaster star Alex Horne has opened up on what his Channel 4 co-star, Greg Davies, is really like when the cameras aren't rolling. The comedian, who recently released a new book, shared that the two were "not friends" at one point as he admitted that they "have very different lives".
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Alex, 46, explained: "The best thing about working with Greg... Well you know what, we weren't friends before. We knew each other from the stand-up scene. We were just colleagues, we weren't friends. But now we are really, really close friends. We have got very different lives, but we tell each other everything and we spend a lot of time together. It's genuinely the best thing." He added: "I always say, for me, he is one of the two funniest people working in comedy."

"It's him and Tim Key, I think, are the funniest people so I feel very lucky. It's completely subjective but I find them both so funny and I get to spend time with him and he makes me laugh," Alex shared.
The TV presenter is currently working on a "challenging" project away from the Channel 4 show. He has released a book called The Last Pebble earlier this month, described as "a beautifully told story of a young boy's connection with his grandpa - and a mystery that may come between them."
The book's description continues: "The Last Pebble is a warm, atmospheric novel with exceptional heart and a wonderful first-person narrative voice, this is a story of friendship, family, and the joy of special interests.

"It is also a celebration of the British seaside and childhood summers with its pebble beach setting and sense of adventure, based on the author's own childhood and interests."
Alex explained the process of writing the book, telling Express.co.uk: "It has taken seven years and loads of rewrites. I'm really pleased with it but it has been a process. I didn't want to put something out there that wasn't very good."
When asked if he would write any more fictional books, the author and presenter replied: "I don't know. I said at the time no, because it was quite difficult and I found it to be really hard work, but now that it is done I absolutely love it. I have got ideas. So, who knows? I'm not saying no or yes."
