Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film ‘Dhurandhar’ has caught everyone’s attention with its intense first look, showing him in a fierce avatar amidst gunfire and chaos. The movie’s setting prominently features Pakistan, complete with Urdu signage and Pakistani flags. However, contrary to what the visuals suggest, the film was not shot in Pakistan.
Reports reveal that all Pakistan-based scenes were actually filmed in Thailand, nearly 4000 kilometers away. Thailand’s diverse locations and strong support from its government helped the filmmakers recreate an authentic Pakistani atmosphere. The production team carefully chose spots that convincingly depict Pakistani streets and markets, providing viewers with a realistic experience without filming on Pakistani soil.
Thailand has been a favored destination for Bollywood movies in recent years, hosting hits like ‘Wanted,’ ‘Student of the Year,’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ thanks to its versatile settings and film-friendly policies.
Alongside Ranveer Singh, ‘Dhurandhar’ stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sara Arjun. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is slated for release on December 5. Though the storyline unfolds in Pakistan, the actual shooting took place in Thailand, showcasing filmmakers’ creativity in overcoming logistical challenges.
