The gripping narrative of the film invites viewers into the secluded yet idyllic life of a father and his 17-year-old daughter tucked away in a lush urban park in Portland, Oregon – a life turned upside down by a simple error.
The official synopsis paints a vivid picture: "Will (Ben Foster) and his teenage daughter, Tom (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie), have lived off the grid for years in the forests of Portland, Oregon. When their idyllic life is shattered, both are put into social services. After clashing with their new surroundings, Will and Tom set off on a harrowing journey back to their wild homeland."

With Debra Granik at the helm and co-writing the screenplay with Anne Rosellini, this acclaimed movie is adapted from Peter Rock's 2009 book My Abandonment, which itself springs from real-life events, reports .
In the realm of critical consensus, it reigns as the most applauded film with a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. One critic raved: "Ben Foster gives the performance of his career – it's a knockout. Leave No Trace doesn't have a false note in it.

Director Debra Granik conveys the hardship of an army veteran and his daughter who have been living in a public Park, bringing to life the novel My Abandonment by Peter Rock.
She is already an accomplished filmmaker having directed the Box Office smash Winter's Bone in 2010 and being responsible for propelling Jennifer Lawrence to fame for her role as Ree Dolly, in the production.
Leave No Trace is currently available to stream on Netflix.
