A Game of Thrones star has avoided adriving ban after being caught speeding twice in one day. Actor Harry Lloyd, known for his role as Viserys Targaryen in the HBO series, was caught on the A205 in Clapham, southwest London, last year.
On November 28, he was caught at 24mph and on the same evening, at 25mph – despite the road being a 20mph zone. Lloyd, 41, was driving his £40,000 BMW at the time of the incident. The actor, who lives in Wandsworth, admitted the two counts of speeding in his BMW 3 Series at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court.
The actor, who was in his 11-year-old car, already had nine points on his license from previous offences. The actor who played Viserys Targaryen in the series told the court he was going through family issues on the day of the incident.

He told the court: "That day was Thanksgiving and my wife is American. At the time my one-year-old son was in hospital. I was running around a lot that day and was not concentrating." He went on to say that his children had various medical appointments which they both needed to attend.
"There would be a lot of pressure on my wife," he said, adding: "She is American and does not have a UK licence." When Magistrate Anna Troiano asked if there was an alternative way of getting to the appointments, Lloyd responded, saying he could try and find a taxi.
He went on to say: "The hospital is about 20 to 30 mins away. In that situation, we would do what we have to do. My daughter also has appointments she needs to go to in Wandsworth. Going in the car is a nice and familiar routine for her.
"It is comfortable for her and after school, that is the best way to go to an appointment with her. She is seven, and my boy is now two." The Magistrate told the actor: "Having taken into account everything you have said about your son and his circumstances, as well as your daughter, the bench has decided we are not going to disqualify you.
"However this means you will be driving with 15 penalty points on your licence. Any step in the wrong direction, or any more speeding at the smallest offence will take you into automatic disqualification because you will not be able to use the same reason again in court."
He was told he had to be "really careful," to which he responded: "I will be very, very careful." Lloyd was fined £384 and was ordered to pay £154 as a victim surcharge, as well as £130 in costs – totalling £668.
Lloyd is the great-great-great-grandson of legendary author Charles Dickens, and has starred in the likes of The Hollow Crown, The Theory of Everything, Taking the Flak and FX's Legion. He landed his first leading role in Closer to the Moon back in 2014, playing Stephen Hawking's fictional roommate.
He later appeared alongside Cillian Murphy in Anthropoid.
