Seeing the young man doing this, the local people got angry. They caught him and beat him up. They did not listen even when the police tried to stop them. After a lot of effort, the police were able to free the young man from their clutches. He has been admitted to the hospital in an injured condition.
According to the report of Rajesh Saha of India Today, the incident took place in Contai area of East Medinipur district of West Bengal. Here 7 years ago, the body of a local woman was buried. But now a person named Prabhakar Sit dug up this grave and took out the skeleton of the woman. After this, he started taking selfies with it. When the local people saw him doing this, they were shocked. They got furious. They caught Prabhakar red-handed and started beating him fiercely.
When the police got the news, they also reached the spot. They tried to save the young man from the villagers but the angry people refused to hand him over to the police. People were so enraged that they started scuffling with the police. Bricks and stones were thrown fiercely. Three policemen were also injured in the incident. After two hours of effort, the police was finally able to free the young man from the clutches of the villagers in an injured condition. He has been sent to Kanthi Upazila Hospital for treatment.
The police also admitted that the youth had dug the grave and taken out the skeleton and was taking selfies with it. During this, a bottle of alcohol was recovered from him. It is suspected that the youth did this in a drunken state. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
The police said that initial investigation has revealed that the youth used to work in a hotel in another state. He lost his job due to being an alcoholic. The police is also trying to find out whether the accused took out the woman's body from the grave only to take a selfie or his real motive was something else.
