The Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament got underway today, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated state-level competition that brings together some of the most promising young players from across Maharashtra. Held under a competitive yet encouraging atmosphere, the first day saw several intense matchups unfold on Table 1.
The opening match featured Atharva staging a comeback win against Vivan, bouncing back from a first-round loss to take the match 2-1 (12-14, 11-7, 12-10). The second match saw Arman overturn an early deficit to defeat Askhit with scores of 12-14, 11-6, and 11-6.
In the third fixture, Erina delivered a dominant performance against Shreya, winning in straight rounds with scores of 11-8, 13-11, and 11-7. The final match of the day had a brief delay, with only the third round being played. Sarthak edged past Om 11-8 and was later recognized as the Player of the Day for his composed play and standout presence at the table.
The tournament continues over the next few days, with players aiming to climb the state rankings and leave their mark on the circuit.
