Pithampur (Madhya Pradesh): On the occasion of International Labour Day, District Legal Services Authority, Dhar organised legal literacy camps in private factories at Pithampur. The camps were held under the guidance of Sanjeev Kumar Agrawal, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Dhar.
Legal literacy camps were organised at Pithampur on International Labour Day. The camps aimed to raise awareness about NALSA scheme for unorganised sector workers and effective implementation of poverty eradication programmes.
Pradeep Soni, Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Dhar and Krishna Agrawal, Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Dhar presided over the camps. The objective of the camps was to provide legal awareness and services to workers in the unorganised sector, promoting their rights and welfare.
The legal literacy camp provided awareness to workers on various topics, Origin and purpose of the Labour Day, dating back to the 1886 Hay Market incident in Chicago, USA, Constitutional rights, such as minimum wages and equal pay, issues like human trafficking and child labor, employee compensation acts and workers' rights, National Lok Adalat and its benefits were discussed.
Judge Krishna Agrawal raised awareness about labour laws among workers. Secretary Pradeep Soni encouraged workers to resolve disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) centres. Naib Tehsildar Anita Bareth urged workers to take advantage of government schemes.
