Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): The Hindu and Muslim traders put up their shutters on Friday in protest against the Pahalgam massacre on Tuesday.
The roads in the city remained empty. The Grain Merchant Association also closed the Krishi Upaj Mandi.
Tea shops, dairies, and even the medicine shops remained closed.
The traders of Ashta Tehsil also closed their shops. Those who wanted to buy clothes and ornaments for wedding ceremonies had to return empty-handed.
The district administration stepped up security at different places in the city during the strike.
Angry traders said terrorists responsible for the massacre of over 28 tourists should get the severest punishment.
Municipality pays tribute
Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh): The staffers of Nagar Palika have paid tributes to those who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Chairman and vice-chairman of the civic body were present at the condolence meeting.

Balaghat bandh today
Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): All business establishments, markets and educational institutions will remain closed in Balaghat district on Saturday in protest against the Pahalgam massacre.
The trader associations called for the closure of shops. Apart from essential services all other establishments will put up their shutters. The traders’ organisations took the decision to close shops at a meeting at Hanuman temple on Friday.
