Her journey began on her birthday, December 14, 2024, and she officially started her routine on January 1, 2025.

In a recent interview with the Indian Express, she opened up about her evolving fitness mindset, emphasizing strength-building, balanced nutrition, and sustainable health practices.

A New Beginning at 46

For Sameera, the decision to embark on this new fitness journey came after years of yo-yo dieting. She realized that constantly shifting weight was neither healthy nor sustainable. “It actually started when I realized that constantly yo-yoing with my weight wasn’t sustainable,” she shared. The actress explained how managing her career, motherhood, and a fitness routine could often feel overwhelming, especially as a busy mom. Yet, rather than giving up, Sameera chose to persist and begin anew in 2025 with a focus on balance and long-term wellness.

Focusing on Strength Over Skinny

In her quest for a more sustainable lifestyle, Sameera emphasized that she no longer views weight loss as the ultimate goal. Instead, her focus has shifted to ageing well and building strength. “At 46, I realize that extreme diets and yo-yo weight loss aren’t the solution. My priorities now are building strength, managing my fitness levels over the long run, feeling strong and confident rather than just trying to be skinny,” she said. This approach marks a significant change from her earlier days when she was more focused on shedding pounds quickly.


A Balanced Diet: No Extreme Restrictions

Reddy’s approach to diet is centered around balance, not deprivation. Unlike many fitness trends that promote extreme measures, Sameera believes in moderation and mindful eating. “There are no extreme restrictions, like cutting out carbs,” she explained. Instead of adhering to restrictive diets, Sameera practices portion control and adjusts her food intake based on the intensity of her workouts. Her emphasis is on consistency and long-term health rather than chasing short-term results.

Being Your Own Biggest Cheerleader

While Sameera acknowledges the support of her family, she stresses the importance of self-motivation and resilience in this journey. “You have to be your own biggest cheerleader. Not everyone will cheer you on, and that’s okay. You have to show up for yourself,” she said. Her message to others is clear: take charge of your own wellness journey. She also encourages setting realistic goals and staying consistent. “This is your journey and your decision. No one else can do it for you,” she advised.
