Bengaluru is witnessing heavy rainfall, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for the next 48 hours.
The continuous showers have caused waterlogging in multiple parts of the city, disrupting traffic on key routes and making commuting difficult.
Residents in low-lying areas are also grappling with stagnant water around their homes, raising concerns over possible health issues.
The IMD said the rain is expected to continue, with two more days of intense showers likely from August 10. The current yellow alert remains in place until August 11 and could be extended if conditions persist.
The sudden spell of intense rainfall is due to a strong revival of the southwest monsoon, bringing widespread showers across Bengaluru, as reported by ToI.
