Udayan Dutt, former vice-president of human resources for global finance, IT & digitisation, legal and transformation at British multinational consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser is set to join Mumbai-based business conglomerate RPG Group as president-group HR.
Dutt, whose LinkedIn profile reflects that he exited from Reckitt Benckiser in March 2025, will succeed S Venkatesh who recently moved on from RPG after more than 11 years.
“I will join RPG Enterprises as president-group HR on June 2, 2025, building upon its rich legacy of innovation, care, inclusion and high-performance culture,” Dutta said in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
“Guided by Harsh Goenka and the group’s leadership, we will shape a people agenda that drives business success and employee well-being, ensuring a future, where both thrive,” he added.
According to people in the know, Harsh Goenka, chairperson of the RPG Group has been keenly involved in the selection process. The group itself is known for several progressive people policies.
An XLRI Jamshedpur alumnus, Dutt has over 25 years of experience across various geographies, including a nearly decade-long stint at Unilever, where his last role was leading HR for the company’s marketing function for South Asia. He joined Reckitt Benckiser as regional HR director, South Asia in 2018 and assumed additional responsibilities before becoming the VP-HR, accountable for driving organisational transformation across all global functions.
