Fact Check: No Recruitment for 30,000 Posts in Railways – RRB Prayagraj Confirms Viral Notification Is Fake

Send Push

A notification circulating widely on social media claims that the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Prayagraj has announced the recruitment of 30,307 graduate-level posts under CEN numbers 03/2025 and 04/2025, with an application window from August 30 to September 29, 2025. However, this claim is completely false and misleading.

What Was Claimed?

A PDF notification, which appears to be professionally formatted, has gone viral, stating that Indian Railways is recruiting for over 30,000 graduate-level posts. The alleged notice sparked excitement among lakhs of job seekers awaiting new RRB openings.

RRB Prayagraj Responds: It's Fake

The RRB Prayagraj has officially clarified that no such notification has been issued. In a statement released on their official website, the board has termed the viral notification fake and fabricated. The CEN numbers 03/2025 and 04/2025 mentioned in the viral post are not valid.

The board has strongly advised aspirants to rely only on official communication channels, including:

  • Indian Railways official website

  • RRB regional websites

What Should Aspirants Do?
  • Do not trust viral messages or unverified PDF files shared on WhatsApp, Telegram, or other social platforms.

  • Always cross-check recruitment notices with official government websites.

  • Never share personal information or pay any money to unknown sources claiming to offer government jobs.

If you come across such fake websites or people spreading misinformation, immediately report them to the local police or cybercrime authorities.

Railway Minister Confirms: Rail Accidents Have Dropped Significantly

While fake recruitment news has been circulating, genuine data presented in Parliament reveals significant safety improvements in Indian Railways.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told the Rajya Sabha that the number of rail accidents has dropped drastically:

  • 2014–15: 135 accidents

  • 2024–25: Just 31 accidents

  • 2025–26 (up to June): Only 3 incidents recorded

Between 2004 and 2014, Indian Railways witnessed 1,711 accidents, averaging 171 per year. Post-2014, safety measures have sharply reduced these numbers.

Key Railway Safety Upgrades Include:
  • 6,635 stations now use electronic interlocking systems to reduce human error.

  • 11,096 level crossings have been upgraded with interlocking gates.

  • 6,640 stations have been fitted with track circuiting to electronically confirm train presence.

  • The 'Kavach' automatic train protection system, launched in July 2020, is now being deployed on Delhi–Mumbai and Delhi–Howrah routes.

  • All locomotives are equipped with Vigilance Control Devices to monitor the attentiveness of loco pilots.

  • In fog-prone areas, drivers are assisted by retro-reflective Sigma boards and GPS-based fog safety devices.

Final Word

The news of 30,000+ vacancies in Indian Railways is entirely fake, as confirmed by RRB Prayagraj. Job seekers are advised to stay alert, avoid falling for fake notifications, and only trust official sources for employment updates. Meanwhile, the Indian Railways continues to focus on passenger safety and modernization, reducing accident rates to record lows.
