Alejandro Garnacho'sFA Cupfinal success in 2024, coming after his emotional reaction to losing the 2023 showpiece, highlights the champion's mindset he would deliver toChelsea if the Blues secure a move for the Manchester United winger.
The 21-year-old entered as a substitute during United's loss to Manchester City in the final, and despite his notable contribution, he was unable to stop Pep Guardiola's team from securing a 2-1 triumph.
What would have marked his second trophy of the campaign after United's 2-0 victory against Newcastle United in the 2023 EFL Cup final earlier that season left the then-18-year-old devastated on the turf following the final whistle. The youngster was spotted weeping before receiving comfort from Bruno Fernandes and Erik ten Hag.

Following the encounter, Garnacho turned to social media to speak to supporters and acknowledge that, whilst he felt devastated by their defeat, they would soon experience happiness through silverware.
"I am broken," he posted. "People who know me know how obsessed I am with winning, and today it couldn't be. Probably one of the hardest days of my life, we will get up again because we are Manchester United.
"As he said several times, God has taught me to never give up and promise the fans that we will bring joy to you very soon." It was during the subsequent campaign when Garnacho's pledge materialised as United gained revenge against their local rivals in the 2024 FA Cup final, reports the Express.

The Argentine himself was the first to find the back of the net in the 30th minute, with Kobbie Mainoo adding a second nine minutes later. Jeremy Doku managed to pull one back late on, but the Red Devils held firm to secure silverware for the second season running.
Despite a brilliant end to the 2023/24 season, Garnacho's performance this past season, like many of his colleagues, was inconsistent and underwhelming. After failing to impress Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese manager advised the Argentina international to seek a new club this summer, a fate also shared by Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho.
Chelsea have long admired Garnachoand would certainly value his winning mentality. Reports suggest that Enzo Maresca's team are preparing to make a bid for the forward. While his talent is undeniable, his conduct has landed him in trouble on several occasions with Amorim and previously with Ten Hag.

He was dropped from United's squad for their match against Manchester City last December, along with Rashford, due to Amorim citing their lack of work ethic. Despite the controversies he's been involved in, the Blues are content with his behaviour, according to Telegraph Sport.
It's been reported that Chelsea have conducted a thorough investigation into Garnacho's character and personality through a series of background checks. The West London club are reportedly pleased with the results, but they'll need to approve the probable departures of Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja before moving forward with a deal for the winger.
Garnacho has also garnered interest from overseas, but according to Fabrizio Romano, he has informed Chelsea that they are his top choice after discussions with the club. A deal is not expected to be wrapped up anytime soon, as the Blues are expected to try and get Xavi Simons over the line first.
